FIRST DAY!!!

“So,” today is the first day we’ve gotten internet. We got here Thursday… it’s Sunday. What a weird thing to not have internet access 24/7… hahaha. I put “so” in parenthesis because EVERYONE says it in front of their sentences like we say, “um” or “like.” They also say, “is it?” in place of “really?” and it’s cool when you catch one. You would never respond “it is.” You would just say, “yeah.” And for “how are you?” it’s “how’s it?” As most of you know, I love cultures, so of course I’m becoming obsessed with all the different expressions and 11 different official languages spoken here.

Friday was amazing. It was our first full day in Africa. Which is incredible because it seems like we’ve been here forever already. I love the people here so much, they are so cool and fun. Pinkie (speaks africaans), K (speaks Zulu), Cion, Tim, Rob, and Timbwe picked us up from the airport. All but Timbwe are on staff with Campus Outreach Johannesburg (COJ) at the University of Wits, the campus we will be on for the summer. I feel so close to many of the S. Africans already, as well as the staff, and my team here.

We had a leader’s meeting with the student and staff at Wits. It is so amazing to hear the ministry that’s already going on over there. I’m compelled to go eveangelize with them in the “Res hall’” or dorm. They have such passion for Christ that you want it too. Worship was and is amazing as well. No one cares if they can sing or not… there’s just no shame in the gospel here.

Well, I will try my best to update as much as I can. If not, at least some pictures. Please check our blog as well… found under the blog link on the left.

Love yall... I'm seriously rushed with time.
